BUT, sometimes the version numbers for the updates are quite different and it makes me wonder if I could/should use the physical update as well/instead. Now, you might say, "Just download the digital version's update, silly!" I hear ya. However, I've noticed that for some digital games I'll find both an update for the digital version of the game and the physical version.
So I've been making backups of updates/patches for digital PS3 games.
